Middle School Curriculum
The foundation of the Virtual Learning Academy Consortium Middle School is a curriculum offered through Imagine and Lincoln Learning Solutions. Upon completion of enrollment, student complete a Learning Profile activity which helps inform which curriculum options are best fit to students' unique needs. Students can choose a combination of Imagine and Lincoln Learning classes in order to meet their needs. With single sign in capabilities through Clever, students will find navigating between two curriculum vendors easy.
During the month of September, students will complete the Lincoln Orientation Course, Imagine Orientation Course, i-Ready Reading and i-Ready Math diagnostic tests and several career exploration activities in Xello.
VLAC Middle School Students choose from five language options (Spanish, French, German, Chinese and Latin).
VLAC offers a series of elective options commonly found in middle schools such as Art, Music, Health and Physical Education.
Our career readiness elective courses help students explore professions, develop skills, and make informed career choices.
Lincoln Empowered offers standards-based courses that make it possible for schools to meet the needs of students who want to learn in subject areas. Lincoln Empowered courses give students multiple ways to engage with, understand, and demonstrate mastery of the course content.
Imagine Learning initial credit and credit recovery courses provide research-based curricula that can be adapted to each our Grade 6-12 student’s unique learning journey.
Our Middle School Teachers
The difference between VLAC and other virtual programs is the strength in relationships between students and teachers in our program. Students have a dedicated teacher who is available to meet virtually, schedule phone calls for assistance or text. Teachers offer weekly live lessons where whole group classroom activities strengthen student social skills and sense of belonging.
